1. Services

Kubsie’s Canines provides professional pet care services including:

• 1:1 Dog Walking
• Overnight Pet Sitting
• Drop-In Visits
• Day Care
• Feline and Small Animal Care

All services are tailored to the individual needs of each animal and are delivered with the aim of providing calm, compassionate and attentive companionship.

2. Meet & Greet

A meet and greet is required prior to the first booking of a dog sit, dog walk or any feline care services to ensure a good fit between the pet, owner and caregiver.

For overnight stays, a £5 booking fee is required to arrange the meet & greet. This fee will be deducted from the total sit cost if the booking proceeds.

Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to decline services if a pet’s behaviour or circumstances are deemed unsafe or unsuitable.

3. Pet Health & Behaviour

Owners must disclose any relevant behavioural issues, medical conditions, allergies or special care requirements prior to booking.

Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to refuse service if a pet shows signs of aggression, poses a safety risk, or if information about the animal has not been accurately provided.

Owners confirm their pet:

• is up to date with vaccinations where appropriate
• is free from contagious illness
• is safe to handle and walk

4. Veterinary Emergencies

In the event of illness or injury, Kubsie’s Canines will make every effort to contact the owner or emergency contact.

If the owner cannot be reached, Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to seek veterinary care where necessary in the best interest of the animal.

All veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the pet owner.

5. Cameras & Privacy

For safety and privacy reasons, clients must inform Kubsie’s Canines of any recording devices or cameras located within the home.

This includes indoor cameras, doorbell cameras, nanny cams or any device capable of recording audio or video.

Undisclosed indoor surveillance devices will result in cancellation of services.

6. Property Access & Practical Arrangements

Clients are asked to ensure the following prior to the sit:

• a safe and legal place to park nearby where permits are not required, or with a permit provided
• neighbours or building managers are informed that a pet sitter will be staying in the property
• safe and reliable access to the property with clear instructions provided for alarms, keys, locks or entry systems

Kubsie’s Canines cannot be held responsible for missed visits if access cannot be gained.

Clients must also notify Kubsie’s Canines in advance of:

• expected deliveries or packages
• scheduled visits from cleaners, gardeners, maintenance workers or other third parties

7. Check-In / Check-Out

For overnight pet sitting:

• Check-in times will be agreed in advance
• Check-out is typically before 5:00pm on the final day

Any check-out after 5:00pm will be charged as an additional night, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

8. Payment & Bookings

Bookings are confirmed once payment terms have been agreed.

For dog walking services, the full cost of the first walk is required upfront, unless otherwise agreed.

For ongoing scheduled walks, payment is due at the end of the week in which the walks take place.

For overnight pet sitting, a 50% deposit of the total sit fee is required to secure the booking.

The remaining balance is due on the final day of the sit, and a payment link will be sent on this day.

Payments can be made via Square Payments or cash.

Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to decline, pause or cancel services where payment terms are not met.

9. Cancellation Policy

Clients are asked to provide as much notice as possible when cancelling services.

For overnight pet sitting:

• Deposits are fully refundable if the booking is cancelled more than 3 months before the sit date
50% of the deposit is refundable if cancelled more than 1 month before the sit date
• Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled within 1 month of the sit date

For dog walking and drop-in visits:

• At least 24 hours notice is required for cancellations
• Walks cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged in full, as the time has been reserved

Cancellation policies may vary depending on the service booked and the length of the booking.

10. Packages & Recurring Services

Clients may book regular walking schedules or service packages.

Package walks are typically paid in advance and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Unused walks within a package are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled with sufficient notice where availability allows.

If Kubsie’s Canines must cancel a scheduled walk due to illness or emergency, the walk will be rescheduled or credited where possible.

11. Lead & Off-Lead Policy

For safety and trust building, dogs will initially be walked on lead until a relationship has been established.

Off-lead walking may only occur once Kubsie’s Canines is confident in the dog’s recall and behaviour. This typically requires several walks (usually 2–3 sessions) to assess suitability.

Kubsie’s Canines does not support or use aversive equipment, including prong collars, choke chains or other punitive training tools.

Dogs using such equipment may be required to switch to a suitable harness or collar before walks can begin.

12. Behaviour & Emotional Needs

Kubsie’s Canines believes in supporting dogs with a wide range of temperaments and behavioural needs, including:

• nervous dogs
• rescue dogs
• dogs with separation or abandonment anxiety
• dogs requiring extra patience or confidence building

Owners must disclose any behavioural concerns prior to booking.

Where a dog requires additional time, management or specialist handling, an additional fee may apply depending on the level of care required.

Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to decline services if a situation poses a serious safety risk.

13. Aggressive Behaviour

Owners must disclose any history of aggression toward people or other animals.

If a dog displays behaviour that poses a safety risk during a service, Kubsie’s Canines may terminate the walk or visit immediately.

In such circumstances, the full service fee will still apply.

14. Pet Accidents & Damage

Kubsie’s Canines understands that occasional accidents can occur.

However, owners are expected to ensure that all pets are appropriately house-trained for house sitting services and that appropriate cleaning materials must be available within the home.

Where repeated accidents occur or additional cleaning is required, additional charges may apply to cover the time spent managing the situation.

Pets may occasionally cause accidental damage to property or belongings.

Kubsie’s Canines cannot be held responsible for damage caused by a pet during the course of normal care.

The owner accepts responsibility for any damage caused by their animal.

15. Home Environment

Clients are responsible for ensuring the home is safe, habitable and comfortable for the duration of the sit.

The home should be left in a clean, tidy and safe condition prior to arrival, including:

• clean bedding and fresh sheets for the sitter
• reasonable kitchen cleanliness
• access to functioning bathroom facilities
• litter tray and garden free from faeces where possible
• working heating, electricity and running water
• secure fencing where relevant
• safe electrical appliances
• no hazardous conditions within the home

Kubsie’s Canines reserves the right to decline or end a sit if the environment is deemed unsafe.

At the end of the sit, Kubsie’s Canines will where possible:

• wash and replace used bedding
• clean litter trays or garden waste where required
• empty the dishwasher if used
• wash dogs where necessary and where suitable facilities are available
• return the home in the condition it was found

16. Emergency Contact

Clients must provide an emergency contact person who can be reached during the booking period if the owner cannot be contacted.

This person should be authorised to make decisions regarding the pet if necessary.

17. Delayed Return

If a client’s return is delayed and the sitter is required to continue caring for the pet beyond the agreed end time, additional nights or visits will be charged at the standard rate.

18. Updates & Communication

Kubsie’s Canines may send occasional updates or photos during the booking to reassure owners that their pets are happy and well cared for.

The frequency of updates will be agreed prior to the booking based on the client’s preference.

19. Liability

While every care and precaution is taken, animals can behave unpredictably.

Kubsie’s Canines cannot be held responsible for injury, illness, loss or death of a pet unless caused by proven negligence.

Clients agree that pets are left in the care of Kubsie’s Canines at their own risk.

20. Force Majeure

Kubsie’s Canines cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond reasonable control including:

• severe weather or unsafe walking conditions
• illness
• emergencies
• transport disruption

Where extreme weather conditions occur (such as heatwaves, storms or icy conditions), walks may be shortened, adapted or replaced with enrichment visits in the best interest of the dog’s safety.

Where possible, alternative arrangements will always be attempted.

21. Agreement

By confirming a booking, the client agrees to the Terms of Service outlined above.
